That may seem high for four issues a year, but the team is promising a high-quality, large format magazine with heavy paper stock, a glossy cover, and 148 pages an issue. It’s also going to be the only official World of Warcraft magazine, meaning Future has a lock on content and cooperation from Activision Blizzard. As much as everyone working on the magazine claims they’re not competing with online sites, it’s hard to fight daily online news by offering something both in-depth and infrequently, two things the modern gamer simply may not be interested in. Still, the game has a strong following of players who devour every bit of news they can get their hands on, and the official status of the magazine means they’ll get at least some news first, and the existing news will be explained better through the developer access. read more
