World of WarCraft’s first new class is also its first ever Hero Class — though the implementation may not be exactly what you were expecting. What I’m going to actually do is create a level 1 Hunter that I intend to turn into a Death Knight, and power him to level 80. It functions differently than a regular class, because you can’t create one at level 1, and you have to complete a quest chain at level 80 to unlock it. It’s Blizzard’s game, and if they want to call it a hero class, then it’s a hero class. What they originally envisioned hero classes being way back when they first mentioned the idea in the beta is no longer going to happen, so it’s not like anything else is going to be competing for the title, so what’s the big deal?
